Product Description The best coffee is always the freshest coffee. Thats why it makes no sense to brew by the pot: by the time you get around to drinking most of the joe its been sitting in a carafe (or worse on top of a burner) going more bitter and stale with each minute. The Breville single-cup brewer takes a different tack. It makes coffee one cup at a time so each cup tastes as fresh as the first one in the pot. Each cup is also 100-percent customized--by brew temperature by grind by varietal even by cup size--so its perfect for households or dinner parties in which everyone likes a different brew. Best of all the brewing process is very very difficult to mess up. The Brevilles patented showerhead sprays a precisely calibrated amount of water through a K-Cup a technology made famous by Keurigs single-cup brewers using temperature and pressure designed to extract the maximum amount of flavor from the grounds. More than 150 pre-packed K-Cups are available for beverages ranging from hot chocolate to organic dark-roast Columbian produced by roasters from Tullys to Green Mountain Coffee.
Amazon.com Review The best coffee is always the freshest coffee. That's why it makes no sense to brew by the pot: by the time you get around to drinking most of the joe, it's been sitting in a carafe (or worse, on top of a burner), going more bitter and stale with each minute. The Breville single-cup brewer takes a different tack. It makes coffee one cup at a time, so each cup tastes as fresh as the first one in the pot. Each cup is also 100-percent customized--by brew temperature, by grind, by varietal, even by cup size--so it's perfect for households or dinner parties in which everyone likes a different brew. Best of all, the brewing process is very, very difficult to mess up. The Breville's patented "showerhead" sprays a precisely calibrated amount of water through a "K-Cup," a technology made famous by Keurig's single-cup brewers, using temperature and pressure designed to extract the maximum amount of flavor from the grounds. More than 150 pre-packed K-Cups are available for beverages ranging from hot chocolate to organic dark-roast Columbian, produced by roasters from Tully's to Green Mountain Coffee. Like all of this company's handsomely designed kitchen equipment, the Breville single-cup coffee brewer is aesthetically gorgeous and feels solidly constructed. It's made from heavy-duty stainless steel with a die-cast safety locking arm, and comes with an internal water filter system to remove impurities that can impart off flavors and smells. A backlit reservoir holds 60 ounces of water and can brew up to 10 cups before it needs refilling; the programmable LCD screen has a refreshingly easy-to-use interface. The Breville single-cup coffee brewer measures 13-1/4 by 10-1/4 by 12-3/4 inches. --Mary Park Editor's note: This is a remanufactured small appliance. Remanufactured generally means that the appliance has been returned to the manufacturer, who returns the appliance to like-new condition. Some appliances may contain cosmetic blemishes.

my refubished unit looks like new November 21, 2009 Donna M. Varsik (ny) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
well i recieved my breville,it looks brand new, from amazon.com ,it didn't come with the k cup filter, but i already have one to use, mine makes hot coffee,so far so good ,i just hope it holds up compared to my b66 which i love.i needed an extra for the basement so i decide to put the kuerig downstairs and get the modern breville for upstairs.its gorgeous and makes an excellent cup of coffee.
Another great product by Breville........refurb or not!! July 12, 2010 Matthew Mcknight (Houston, TX) Gripe or whine if you like about the not included coffee scoop and water filter etc but the family and I absolutely love this new coffee maker! Just an FYI to anyone out there is that you may buy any and all Keurig and K-Cup accessories for this machine as well. I found the water filter starter kit at Bed Bath and Beyond the same day this machine came in. Plus.....I think anyone in modern society has a darn spoon floating around somewhere at home. We bought this machine due to the fact we wanted to save a little money on coffee. Being that most typical size 1 lb. bags can go for a premium these days we thought the one cup at a time approach was more practical. Being that some days I am up sometimes 2-3 hours earlier than my wife, there is no more wasted cold and bitter coffee. Is the machine noisy?? Yes a bit but not loud enough to wake the slumbering family by any means as another reviewer stated. Unless of course you are living in say a 500 square foot studio flat or something to the essence of it. I cant say enough about the product!! It was a win win situation for me and saving over $150 bucks vs. a new retail coffee maker was just the icing on the cake for me!
Nice Machine July 28, 2010 Kim Schultz I can't believe this is a refurbished unit. I had previously received one from CompUSA and it was rusty, moldy - disgraceful. This machine is awesome. Versatile, stylish, modern. Easy to use. It is a little noisy during the prime process, but I love this machine!
Great Coffemaker!! December 12, 2009 Joe Jeffcoat (Thunderville, Texas) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have had mine for almost a week. Yes it doesn't come with 3 items, but if you filter your water you wont need the water filter. The scoop and pod holster are not included either, but to me that defeats one of the selling points. I have enjoyed drinking several different flavors of k cups in search of the ones I will keep a stock of. The only bad part is I can't drink more than 3 cups without getting a little wired. That wide variety of k cups available was one of the reasons I switched to the Breville. It's a wonderful machine and I am very happy with it!
Issues at first, but now completely pleased May 19, 2010 L from Denver (Denver, CO) The Breville 600xl is a fine machine, if you get one that works! We received a machine that did not brew, but luckily we bought through Amazon; They made the return very simple and we had a new machine within a couple of days of filing a return.
Pros about buying the refurbished unit:
*It is a little over 50% off of the original price, which if you do your homework is not the original price listed.
*It is the sleekest single-cup brewer
*It has an available my k-cup you can buy if you want to brew a coffee not available in k-cup form.
*You can also buy a water filter, for those that don't trust the tap water
*The blue lights make it look more modern
*The coffee is darn good
*The brewing is actually not very loud compared to other brands
*Breville customer service was very informative and helpful, I was only on hold 5 minutes before I spoke to somebody about a brewing issue.
*The machine runs without the accessories not included. Don't let it deter you.
Cons:
*The machine's water compartment needs to be put and pressed down with a little force to avoid a "open head" "ready to brew" nightmare.
*It does not come with water filter or K-cup. I would buy these on Amazon, you only need the Keurig filter kit and my k-cup, I think any scoop you have from your current coffee maker will suffice. You won't spend as much as some people are saying. Maybe $35. at most, again they are not necessary.
*Not made fully of stainless steel
*Newer version has a iced drink option.
All in all I am very satisfied with this machine, I will recommended it to others. I would buy from Amazon, they are very good about exchanges.
